David Turndick

David started playing guitar at the age of 7 (1962), and first played professionally in his uncle's jazz band at age 10. David was “classically” trained. He played in and was a member of a few original / copy bands – Ohio, Tubal and Sanhedrin in the Cleveland / Akron / Kent / Youngstown areas in the late ‘60s / early ‘70s. In the late ‘70s he turned his attention to audio engineering in live sound reinforcement and recording. However, he has continued, to this day to do recording and session work. His influences are Richie Blackmore, Steve Vai, Alan Holdsworth, Rick Graham, Dave Martone and Eric Potapenko (to name a few). He has been teaching / mentoring aspiring guitarists of all ages since, but not in the public arena. David has done a lot of session and studio work and has hundreds of hours of recordings in his home studio (for his personal enjoyment). He stays active in the Chicago music scene promoting and mentoring young artists.
