When we introduced our first multi-wood, neck-thru RG5000, we not only crossed a boundary, we obliterated it! With one stroke RWG had brought a level of quality, construction, features and elegant cosmetics once reserved for those with multi-thousand dollar budgets and placed it ALL into the hands of guitarist's everywhere. After consulting with our research and design department, we chose the absolute BEST of these ideas and options and gave the thumbs-up for a group of VERY special guitars: our ELITEWOOD series!

All of the ELITEWOOD series guitars share the same incredible multi-wood construction, neck-thru design and deluxe appointments of our best selling RG5000 but with variations in gorgeous exotic woods and specific model to model details. For 2007 we've updated the electronics with our new HOT BLADE pickups on every ELITEWOOD model and as per overwhelming customer request, we've once again included the Floyd Rose Lo-Pro trem as standard. But that's where the similarities end. Each ELITE comes with it's own unique combination of incredibly beautiful tone woods, show stopping inlays and other fine and well thought out details that make it's sound, feel and looks uniquely it's own. As always, we've taken extreme care not to smother all that gorgeous tone and organic beauty in a thick plastic, resonance deadening skin by again specifying a hand-rubbed satin oil finish.

RG770DX (Flamed Sycamore): The RG700DX features an alder body core with genuine, EXTREMELY figured, flamed SYCAMORE front, back and headstock overlay! This is one of the most BEAUTIFUL woods we've ever seen here at RWG and the tonal results are just as stunning. The hard-maple and walnut thru-neck section is topped with a bound EBONY fingerboard, featuring jumbo frets and a clean, understated look thanks to our unique single RAVEN 12th fret abalone inlay. The Hum-single-hum BLADE pickups, five way switch and master volume and tone control make getting your own distinctive tone easy.

PLUS, we've included a pull up switch on the tone control that turns each of the humbuckers into a GREAT sounding single coil, giving you these nine options:
